I first heard about Wolf Creek Falls about 10 years ago, but for some reason I have never planned a visit. So when Brenda emailed me about a Labor Day hike to Wolf Creek Falls, I decided to finally visit this beautiful waterfall.
Wolf Creek Falls
There are several different routes you can take to get to Wolf Creek Falls. We decided to go with the 3.5 mile out and back hike (7.0 mile total hike) starting from the Wolf Creek Road Trailhead located off of Hwy 25 between Hot Springs, NC and Del Rio, TN.
Here is my GPS Track from our hike:
The trail is not blazed, but it is easy enough to follow. It is a pleasant stroll through the woods mostly alongside the creek. The trail gains a little over 1,000 feet in elevation over the 3.5 miles. There are (4) creek crossings which all can be rock hopped during normal flow.
It took us a little less than two hours to reach this beauty!

The return hike was uneventful and easy since it was all down hill. We did make a few stops to check out some of the Flora and Fungi!
Cardinal Flower
Mushroom (I though this shot worked better in B&W)

Interesting Fungi
It was very enjoyable hike and a beautiful waterfall!
