While looking through some Washington State travel guides, I saw some photos of Lavender fields in bloom. I thought, that is something Amy would love to see! It just so happens that our trip fell during peak Lavender bloom, so I planned Day 2 of our trip so we could check out some of the Lavender Farms.

Yes, it is July and I am wearing Long Pants and a Jacket!

So we got a nice early start and left the Tiny House we rented to head off towards the Sequim/Port Angeles area.

The Port Angeles / Sequim area of Washington State contains dozens of Lavender Farms. I believe we hit six of them!

After our fill of Lavender Farms we headed back to Port Townsend to take the Ferry across to Whidbey Island. It was a beautiful day for a ferry ride!

Once we arrived on Whidbey Island we made a quick visit to Fort Casey State Park to check out the Admiralty Head Lighthouse.

We stopped for a late lunch/early dinner in Oak Harbor before continuing on to our final destination of Anacortes, WA on Fidalgo Island.
Once we checked into the Majestic Inn and unpacked, Amy was ready for a nap. So I went for a walk. I quickly realized that the forested areas of the island are full of extremely friendly Deer!

First time I ever had to wipe Deer snot off my camera lens!
Cap Sante Park is about a 25 minute walk from the Hotel. It offers up an awesome overlook of downtown Anacortes to the west and also views of Mount Baker to the East.

Later that evening Amy and I went up to the hotel's rooftop lounge for sunset.

The sunset was nice, but what was really spectactular was the after sunset evening twilight. I took a quick drive back up to Cap Sante Park to capture that before calling it a night!
