Darrin (aka The Salmon) heard about some awesome swimming holes on the West Fork of the Tuckaseegee River, so we decided to check them out for today's Team Waterfall Adventure.

2021-06-06 DuPont State Forest with Jackie and Bob

DuPont State Forest
Hooker Falls and Wintergreen Falls
Transylvania County, NC
with Amy, Jackie and Bob
Sunday, June 6th, 2021

Our friends Jackie and Bob came up to visit Amy and Me at our new home in Mills River, NC.   We decided to take them over to DuPont State Forest for a bit of hiking.

We started the morning at Hooker Falls for a little warm up hike before the crowds arrived.

Other than a few fishermen, we had Hooker Falls mostly to ourselves for a little while.

Large herds of humans were starting to arrive as we were finishing up our hike, so we decided to save Triple Falls and High Falls for another time.  Instead we moved on to a less populated area of the forest and enjoyed a nice hike to Wintergreen Falls.

We had this one to ourselves for the entire time were were there!

Day 2 & 3 - June 3rd and 4th, 2021

For day two of our Virginia Highlands camping trip, the weather forecast called from rain on and off throughout the day.

Rather than one long adventure, we planned a series of short hikes throughout the day:
