Captain John's first Team Waterfall Boat Trip

Captain John invited me and some of our Team Waterfall friends along on the Maiden Voyage of his new pontoon boat.  Things did not go as planned!

 

There is a very long (about 4 hours) story about how we got to this point

 

Very Long Short; the folks at Keowee North Marina were awesome and what could easily have turned into a very expensive and complete cancellation of our adventure turned into just a minor detour.   

 

We got on the lake about  only about 4 hours behind schedule!

Amy's Sister Jenny and family came down for a visit. We took them on a hike to Little Bradley Falls on the way to visit the In-Laws.

We had a little bit of time before The Brick Pizzeria in Columbus was open for business, so Jenny, Hugh and I did the hike to the Big Bradley Falls overlook area.

The next morning, we enjoyed a little horseback riding adventure around the South Fork of the Mill River area of Pisgah National Forest.

At the Summit of Mount Guyot with Scott

 Mount Guyot has been on Scott's Bucket list for quite some time.  I was happy to be able to join him on this adventure to bag the highest roadless peak in the Eastern USA!

 

Since we knew it would be a long day, we decided to camp out at the Mile High Campground making the drive to and from the trailhead much shorter.
