2018-11-10 Off Trail Oconee County Waterfall Wandering

Another Off Trail Waterfall Adventure
Blueless, Hidden Paradise, and Long Creek
Sumter National Forest
Oconee County, SC
Saturday, November 10th, 2018

For Saturday's adventure, Jenni and I decided to check out some off trail waterfalls that neither of us has ever been to:

Little Blueless Falls
Upper Blueless Falls
Middle Blueless Falls
Lower Blueless Falls
Hidden Paradise Falls
Upper Long Creek Falls
Middle Long Creek Falls

We learned about these from Christopher Cockfield's Waterfall Adventure Website.  Check out his site for GPS coordinates and/or detailed directions!

These are all off trail, but the bushwhacking is fairly easy.  We started with the the Blueless Falls which got their name from the fact that the stream does not appear on any Topo Maps!  This is a very low flow stream, so it would be best to visit after a good bit of rain!

Next we continued our bushwhack over to Hidden Paradise Falls.  This one is located on another unnamed tributary of Long Creek.  Getting to the base of this one was the most difficult challenge of the day.

We bushwhacked downstream from Hidden Paradise a short distance to where the tributary meets up with Long Creek.  During times of low flow, you might be able to rock hop Long Creek, but more than likely you should plan on getting your feet wet!

A short distance downstream we arrive at Upper Long Creek Falls!  This one is a beauty!

The full sun made photography a challenge, but we were able to make the best of it and still get some nice shots!

Continuing on downstream, we arrived at Middle Long Creek Falls!  Another impressive and very scenic drop!

This one did not come out the way I intended, but it's kind of neat!

The climb out of Long Creek was steep but relatively short.   Here is the GPS track from our adventure!

It was a beautiful day to be outside!
