It's probably the skin from that kingsnake whose photo you took some time back. He was getting ready to shed.
I wondered that as well. It was found in a different part of the yard from where I saw the Kingsnake. However, I am sure snakes move around quite a bit. On the other hand, I know there is more than one snake in my yard, so it could be from any of them.
