This is probably due to the fact that we have a bunch of large Oak Trees which offer up a plethora of squirrel food (aka Acorns).
So today, I decided to switch over to the zoom lens and try to capture some of these little critters. It turns out that they are a little camera shy! But, I did manage to get a few shots of these cute little critters!

Squirrels are actually cool as hell to watch. I have the opportunity every day to watch large populations of both squirrels and chipmunks. I'd always wondered if they ever clashed and yesterday I saw a chipmunk trying to dig in a squirrel's stash and the squirrel caught him at it. A chase ensued. It was hilarious. The chipmunk ended up underneath a metal gridded walkway that the squirrel couldn't get through--I could see them both. The squirrel was quite frustrated and the chipmunk seemed smug.
