Ringneck Snake

I spotted this guy slithering along outside our house.  Since it was only about 8" long, I assumed it was a baby snake.  However, with some online research, I identified it as a ringneck snake which only grow to about 12" long.  I still think this was a young one.  The mortar gap between the bricks in only about a half inch wide, giving you an idea how small this snake is.

Just in case it was trying to find a way inside the house, I relocated him into the woods.
