Reedy Branch Falls

Amy and Jack's Memorial Day Weekend Getaway to Georgia

Chapter 13 - Reedy Branch Falls
Oconee County, SC
Memorial Day Monday, May 30th, 2011

On the drive back home from our little weekend getaway to Georiga, we decided to stop and check out a couple of Oconee, SC waterfalls. The first one being Reedy Branch Falls.

Reedy Branch Falls

Directions (from Westminster, SC):
1. Head West on US76 for about 15 miles
2. Look for the pull-off on the left after you pass Chattooga Ridge Road on the right
3. The pull-off area has stone wall alongside with an arched gate at the trailhead

Note: We were coming from the opposite direction, in which case the pull-off area is on the right side of the road approximately 2.0 miles after crossing the Chattooga River at the Georgia/South Carolina State Line
The trail is a wide path that heads gradually downhill. It is less than a quarter mile hike to the base of this waterfall. Just about anyone can handle this short and easy hike and I highly recommend it if you are in the area.

The wide open shallow pool in front of this waterfall gives you virtually unlimted angles to compose and photograph this one!  Here are several more shots of Reedy Branch Falls:
